One of the most important tools in any writer’s toolbox is an honest beta reader or two, who can help to improve their story without trying to change it.
Should you hire me as a beta reader, I will detail my feelings and observations about your work, including things I liked, moments I was bored or confused, and thoughts about your characters’ behavior. I will also highlight any questions I have while reading, and whether or not they were resolved after reading further.
In the interest of preserving the integrity of your vision, I will avoid making suggestions regarding how your story could be better (for example: “I think you should add a fight scene here”).
I want to make your story into a better version of itself, rather than turn it into something that better matches my personal writing style and preferences.
